THE DEAL, STATED PLAINLY.

Last updated 24 September 2026. This describes the beta as it actually behaves. It was written by the people who built IdleNet, not by a lawyer, and it will be reviewed before IdleNet is offered at scale.

WHAT IDLENET IS

A Windows application that shares the part of your internet connection you are not using with a third-party bandwidth network, with your explicit consent, and which intends to convert what that earns into tokenised stocks you choose.

WHAT THIS BETA DOES AND DOES NOT DO

• Does: share bandwidth when you turn it on, count your qualifying participation days on your own computer, and remember the reward preference you picked.
• Does not: pay you. Rewards are not switched on. Participating now does not earn money, does not create a balance, and is not a promise of a future payment.
• If and when rewards start, they will depend on the bandwidth network actually paying, on your eligibility, and on terms published before any payment is made.

WHAT SHARING COSTS YOU

• Other people's traffic passes through your connection, and your IP address goes with it.
• Your connection can pick up the reputation of that traffic, which can mean more captchas or the occasional blocked login.
• Some internet providers restrict sharing your connection. Your agreement with them is yours to check.
• It uses data. Set the monthly cap to whatever you are comfortable with, and it never runs on a metered connection unless you turn that off.
• It does not stand aside while you are using your connection. There is no idle detection in this build: sharing runs whenever it is switched on, and the bandwidth network decides how much of the connection to use, within the cap you set. Switch it off if you need the line to yourself.

WHAT THE NETWORK PAYS, AND WHY IT VARIES

The bandwidth network pays IdleNet a monthly rate for each participating connection. That rate depends on the country the connection is in, because that is how the network prices it. As of 24 September 2026 it pays $0.50 a month for a connection in the United States, $0.15 across most of western Europe, Canada, South Korea and Taiwan, $0.03 in India, Brazil and the rest of the world, and $0.00 in Indonesia, Russia, Iran and North Korea.

• Where the rate is $0.00, participating produces no reward at all. You can still use IdleNet and still share, but there is nothing to pay you.
• The network decides which rate applies, from where your connection actually is. IdleNet has no country setting, and choosing one would not change what the network pays.
• Your reward, when rewards begin, is a share of money IdleNet actually holds for that month, divided in proportion to what your participation was worth at these rates. The money may come from the bandwidth network paying us, from fees IdleNet earns, or from IdleNet funding the pool itself. It is not a share of the rate card, and an empty pool divides into nothing.
• Rates, which countries are eligible, and whether payments happen at all can change whenever the network changes them. Anything already credited to you stays yours; what a future month is worth is not something we can promise.

YOUR CONSENT, AND TAKING IT BACK

Nothing is shared until you agree, and the agreement is recorded with a timestamp on your own computer. You can withdraw it at any time from the sharing panel: sharing stops immediately and the bandwidth network's own opt-in is withdrawn with it. You can also just quit the app, which ends the session.

THE BANDWIDTH NETWORK

Sharing is carried out by Cash Raven's software running inside IdleNet. Their terms apply to that part, they decide what counts as usable participation, and they can exclude traffic they consider invalid. IdleNet ships one bandwidth network per build, and the current build carries theirs.

IdleNet is on their trial developer terms. Under those terms the network owes IdleNet nothing for any traffic until a separate commercial agreement is signed, and the trial is capped at 100 devices in total. So the rate card is what a paid month would be worth, not money that is arriving, and the beta is limited and can be closed at any point.

THE BANDWIDTH NETWORK’S OWN RULES

Sharing happens through Cash Raven’s software, and their rules apply to that part whatever IdleNet says. The ones that affect you:

• You must be 18 or over, and the connection must be yours to share. Work, school, hotel, dormitory, cafe and other shared or public networks are not allowed without the owner’s permission.
• No virtual machines, emulators, cloud servers, device farms, VPNs, proxies or anything that changes where your device appears to be, and no manipulating device identifiers to look like more than one device.
• You may not modify, patch, wrap, decompile or reverse engineer the bandwidth network’s software, its consent screen, its opt-out control or any other part of it, and the same goes for the parts of IdleNet that carry it.
• The network can stop or block sharing on a device at any time, including because it considers the traffic invalid. If it does, any reward IdleNet would have given for that device can go with it.
• Rewards come from IdleNet, not from the network. The network owes you nothing, and any dispute about a reward is between you and us.
• By using IdleNet you agree to indemnify and hold Cash Raven harmless in connection with your use of IdleNet.

Their documents are the SDK End User Terms, the Acceptable Use Policy and the SDK Privacy Notice. Nothing here is meant to contradict them: where it seems to, theirs governs the sharing and ours governs IdleNet.

ELIGIBILITY FOR ASSETS, LATER

Tokenised stocks carry their own restrictions. They may not be held by US persons at any time, and are restricted in Canada, the United Kingdom and Switzerland. Being able to install IdleNet and share bandwidth does not mean you will be able to receive an asset.

NO INVESTMENT ADVICE

Choosing a reward preference is not advice and not an order. Nothing in IdleNet is a recommendation to buy or hold anything, and the value of any asset can fall.

BETA SOFTWARE

This is a beta. It may stop working, lose settings, or be withdrawn. The installer is not code signed yet, so Windows will warn about an unknown publisher; check the SHA-256 published beside the download before you run it. The software is provided as it is, without warranty, and you use it at your own risk.

THIS WEBSITE

The dashboard figures shown on the home page are examples, labelled as such, and describe nobody's account. Nothing on the site is an offer, and the rate card is the bandwidth network's price list rather than a payment to you.

WHO WE ARE, AND HOW TO REACH US

IdleNet publishes the application and is the party you are dealing with: the bandwidth network is a supplier of ours, not a party to your agreement with us. Anything at all, including a complaint, a question about a reward, or a request to delete what we hold: josh@optivise.org, or @UseIdleNet.

CHANGES

If the deal changes, in particular when rewards are switched on, the change will be published here and shown in the app before it takes effect.
