A qualifying day is worth between $1 and $5, decided by how much you actually shared: an hour of sharing qualifies the day, and time plus real relayed traffic is what moves it up. $5 a day is a hard ceiling, per person, and no arithmetic anywhere can exceed it.

The money comes from IdleNet’s own reward pool, funded by the coin’s trading fees, not by the bandwidth network. Everything allocated is money the pool already holds: if the pool is short, every allocation is scaled down by the same fraction, and if the pool is empty nothing is allocated. There is no balance accruing in the background, and no promise that a future fee will arrive.

WHAT THE BANDWIDTH NETWORK CONTRIBUTES

Separate from the pool, and disclosed because it is part of how IdleNet is funded: the bandwidth network pays IdleNet a monthly rate for a participating connection, by country, as of 24 September 2026. This is not your ceiling and not your payout. It is what the provider contributes to IdleNet, and today it is nothing at all, because IdleNet is on their trial developer terms under which nothing is payable until a commercial agreement is signed.

WHERE YOU CAN SHARE IS NOT WHERE YOU CAN BE PAID. THE REWARD IS A TOKENISED STOCK, AND THOSE MAY NOT BE HELD BY US PERSONS AT ANY TIME, OR IN CANADA, THE UNITED KINGDOM OR SWITZERLAND. THE UNITED STATES IS THE TOP RATE ON THIS CARD AND IS ALSO THE CLEAREST CASE WHERE PARTICIPATING WOULD NOT LEAD TO AN ASSET. READ THE TERMS BEFORE YOU INSTALL.

WHAT SHARING LOOKS LIKE

While sharing is on, other people’s traffic moves through your connection, up to a monthly cap you set, and never on a metered connection. It does not stand aside while you are using the line: if you want it out of the way, switch it off, and off means off.

AND NOTHING IS CALLED MONEY BEFORE IT IS.

Participation is days, not dollars. It becomes an allocation only when IdleNet actually holds money for that month, and an allocation becomes an asset only when the transaction lands. There is no estimate in between, because an estimate is a promise nobody funded.

At the top of the network’s rate card a connection is worth $0.50 a month, in most of Europe and Canada $0.15, and in much of the world $0.03. In Indonesia, Russia, Iran and North Korea it is $0.00, so sharing there is worth nothing at all. Even at the top of that card this is a slow, automatic way to build a position out of something you already pay for. It is not income, and while IdleNet is on the network’s trial terms it is not yet money at all.

THE THINGS WORTH ASKING FIRST.

DOES IT GET OUT OF THE WAY WHEN I AM USING MY CONNECTION?

No, and we would rather say so. While sharing is on it runs alongside whatever you are doing: there is no idle detection in this build, and the bandwidth network decides how hard to use the connection. What is real is the monthly cap you set, the rule that it never runs on a metered connection, and the off switch. If a call or an upload matters, switch sharing off for a minute.

WHAT EXACTLY AM I SHARING?

Bandwidth, and your IP address along with it. Other people's ordinary web traffic passes through your connection while IdleNet runs. It does not read your files, your browsing or your accounts. Anyone who tells you this is risk free is not being straight with you: your connection can pick up the reputation of the traffic that passes through it, which can mean more captchas or the odd blocked login.

HOW MUCH WILL I ACTUALLY EARN?

Up to $5 for a day you qualify, and at least $1 for a day that qualifies at all, but only as far as the pool is funded. At the end of the month IdleNet divides what the pool actually holds across everyone who qualified, capped at what each person’s days were worth. If the pool is short, every allocation is scaled down by the same fraction rather than paying some people in full and others nothing. Nothing has been funded yet, so today the honest answer is still nothing.

CAN I RECEIVE THE REWARD WHERE I LIVE?

Not everywhere, and it is not the same question as where you can share. The reward is a tokenised stock, and those may not be held by US persons at any time, and are restricted in Canada, the United Kingdom and Switzerland. You can install IdleNet and share bandwidth in those places, and the network may even pay its highest rate for that connection, but being able to share does not mean being able to receive an asset. If that is you, the honest position is that IdleNet has nothing to give you yet.

WHERE DOES THE REWARD MONEY COME FROM?

Trading fees from the coin, paid into IdleNet’s treasury and recorded against the transaction that paid them. Every funding event is read off the chain before it can enter the pool, so the pool can only ever contain money that actually arrived: no projections, no expected fees, no IOUs. The bandwidth network is a separate matter, and contributes nothing today.

DOES MY COUNTRY CHANGE WHAT I GET?

No. The reward pool is IdleNet’s, funded the same way for everyone, so a qualifying day is worth the same wherever you are: between $1 and $5, decided by how much you shared. Country still decides what the bandwidth network would pay IdleNet for your connection, which is why its rate card is disclosed above, but that is money between them and us and it does not set your reward. Receiving the asset is a separate question: tokenised stocks are restricted in some places, and that is covered below.

IS THE BETA LIMITED?

Yes, in two ways worth knowing before you install. The bandwidth network’s trial terms cap IdleNet at 100 devices in total until a commercial agreement is signed, so the download can close at any point. And rewards are off for everyone: nobody is being paid during the beta, including us.

CAN THE RATES CHANGE?

Yes, and they will. The rates on this page are the network’s published rates as of 24 September 2026, they can change whenever the network changes them, and which countries are eligible can change too. Any reward you have already been credited is yours; what a future month is worth is not something anyone can promise.

WHEN DO I ACTUALLY GET THE ASSET?

When your balance reaches $5.00. It is bought in one batch and sent to your wallet, and the app shows the transaction. Below that, the cost of buying would eat the amount itself.

WHO HOLDS IT?

You do. It goes to your own wallet, and IdleNet cannot move it afterwards.

CAN I STOP?

Yes, at any time, from the app. Sharing stops immediately and anything already earned stays yours.

IS THIS LIVE?

Not yet. The Windows app is built and in final testing, but it is not out, so there is nothing to download, no bandwidth is being shared by anyone, and no reward has been paid. The figures in the dashboard on this page are examples. When the build goes out, this answer changes first.
